Where It
All Began

That was the year Apple introduced the first iPhone, quietly changing how the world lived.

Facebook opened its doors to everyone, and a new era of human connection was born.

NASA launched the Phoenix Mars Lander, reaching further into the universe than ever before. The world was alive with possibility, and a new chapter in human longevity had just begun.

Yet,
challenges were already
on the horizon.

Yet,
challenges were
already on the horizon.

At the time, population ageing had not yet become a major global challenge, but the shift was already emerging.

At Newcastle University in the UK, Prof. Lynne Corner recognised the importance of bringing research beyond academia. Through collaboration with businesses and governments, she worked to translate knowledge into practical action. This vision led to the creation of VOICE®.

Introducing
VOICE®

As life expectancy continued to rise, a new question began to emerge. Beyond living longer, how could people continue to live well, remain connected, and contribute meaningfully to society? More importantly, were our communities, institutions, and systems ready for this shift? At the heart of the conversation was a simple but important question: Are we truly prepared?

From this thinking came VOICE®, short for Valuing Our Intellectual Capital and Experience. Founded by Prof. Lynne Corner, it reflects a simple belief: that the knowledge, experience, and perspectives gained throughout life should be recognised, valued, and shared.

A New Chapter
in Taiwan

By this time, VOICE® had expanded globally, reaching the UK, Australia, Italy, Germany, Singapore, Thailand, and more. While each region carried its own cultural context, all shared the same belief: the experience and wisdom of those they served were worth valuing, listening to, and building upon.

Taiwan became part of this shared vision.

The Origins of
VOICE® 智聲

Inspired by the vision and values of VOICE®, Acer Group founder Mr Stan Shih played a pivotal role in bringing its mission to Taiwan. Through his leadership and advocacy, Taiwan Innovation Centre for Ageing (TICA) was officially established in Taipei on 12 September 2024.

On the same day, VOICE® 智聲(Zhisheng)was launched as the Taiwan chapter of VOICE®, connecting Taiwan to a growing global network dedicated to healthy longevity.

Through its digital platform and a wide range of community initiatives, it brings people together to share experiences, exchange ideas, and help shape the future of longevity in Taiwan. As part of the global VOICE® network, Taiwan is connected to a growing community of thousands of members worldwide.

Our
Philosophy

VOICE®智聲 aims to challenge traditional perceptions of ageing in Taiwan by recognising and valuing the wisdom, experience, and contributions of older generations. By bringing these strengths into society, we seek to help build a thriving future in response to demographic change.

No matter who you are or where you come from, we all share a common goal: to live healthier and longer lives. Technology will provide innovative solutions to help us achieve this goal. At the age of 82, I still hope to play a part in shaping the future of ageing societies around the world!

We believe that every individual has a voice worth hearing. By listening to diverse perspectives and lived experiences, we can inspire new ideas, encourage collaboration, and support more meaningful lives.
